Two days before the much-awaited showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios in Macau, HBO will air the final episode of their hit reality series 24/7 Pacquiao/Rios on Thursday.
The final episode of the three-part series that debuted on November 9th will first air at 10:00 PM Eastern Time, which is expected to feature the critical stages of both fighters' training for the Pacquiao vs Rios showdown on November 23rd at the Cotai Arena.
The second episode gave a glimpse on how the unfortunate calamity of the Philippines affected Pacquiao emotionally especially after not being given the chance to visit his countrymen badly hit by Typhoon Haiyan. For his part, Pacquiao vowed to help after his fight and said that he is dedicating his next fight to his grieving countrymen.
"I want to help them," Pacquiao said in one of the interviews. "I want to dedicate this fight to them. I'm praying for you guys. May god bless you."
Episode 2 also discussed Alex Ariza's transfer from Pacquiao to Rios' camp in which trainer Freddie Roach discussed why their former strength and conditioning coach was fired from their team, saying that Ariza wanted to do everyone else's job, including Roach's job.
Rios, on the other hand, defended Ariza from Roach's criticism, saying that he doesn't care on what Roach is saying about his conditioning coach, saying that a person as talented as Ariza should not be left on the sidelines.
"Why put a good player on the sidelines," Rios said. "I don't know how things went down between him and Manny and I don't give a fuck. That's in the past. I'm looking to the future."
The final episode will be replayed on HBO on November 21st at 2:05 AM, November 22nd at 8:30 PM, and on fight day on November 23rd at 10:30 AM. HBO2 will also air the episode on November 22nd at 12:15 AM and on November 23rd at 2:40 PM. It will also be available online through HBO On Demand and HBO GO.
No world title is at stake on Saturday (Sunday morning in Macau) but both Pacquiao and Rios are expected to give their all as they are both looking to prove something.
Pacquiao is aching to prove that he is still not yet over the hill after losing in his last two fights against Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez, while Rios wants to shock the world and become an established superstar in the world of boxing.
The Pacquiao vs Rios showdown will be shown live as the headliner of the HBO pay-per-view event on November 23rd starting 9:00 PM Eastern Time.
